October Programme

All days run 9 am to 5 pm and feature pick-ups in north and south edinburgh along with exciting wet weather options.

Mon 20 Oct     Cramond Island Photography: cross the secret path to this wild, uninhabited island and see what amazing pictures you can take. We give you cameras, photography tips and a disc of your own photos to keep.

Tues 21 Oct     Bushcraft Builders, Ravelston Woods: make yourself at home in Ravelston Woods. We’ll set up a woodland workshop complete with tools and use natural materials to build shelters, hides, chairs, beds and loads more.

Wed 22 Oct     Campfires & Carving, Ravelston Woods - try out traditional firemaking techniques, light a campfire, carve & weave cooking implements and then cook up some tasty treats with wild food.

Thurs 24 Oct    Who lives in a woods like this? Find out which animals live in Ravelston Woods by spotting, foraging & tracking. We’ll put out some, sellotape, moth, footprint and pitfall traps to check on Friday. Are you as wiley as a fox, silent as an owl or nifty as a mouse? Try out your skills in our eco-system games.

Friday 23 Oct    Stone Age Olympics, Ravelston – we’ll create own tribal costumes, feather our spears then test our stone-age skills. Events will include spear throwing, obstacle courses, camouflage & capture the flag & cave painting.
