Description
From our woodland base camps, we'll explore the nearby woodlands and come up with activity and project ideas together. As usual, group members can choose from and learn a whole range of activities, such as:
shelter-building, wild cookery, fire-making techniques, tool-use & survival techniques; archery; nature photography, pottery, weaving & woodland art galleries; pond dipping, bug-hunting, tracks and trails and camouflage, games and much, much more . . . and we’re looking forward to hearing your child(ren)s ideas too.
About BigWorld
Our programme is designed and led by a Forest School-trained leader and highly experienced assistant, ensuring best practice and allowing children to develop their interests, skills, self-esteem and independence within a safe, supportive and inspiring group structure.
- Cost: £28/day, payable in full in advance.
- Clubs officially start at 9 and end at 5, but we can accommodate early drop offs and late pick-ups to fit in with parents work demands.
- Each club is run by a level 3 qualified Forest School leader, supported by trained assistants. The staffing ratio is at least 1 adult to every 8 children.
- All BigWorld staff have current enhanced disclosures, and all clubs are fully insured and operate according to best current practice in all aspects of childcare and outdoor activities. Please contact us for a copy of my current handbook of procedures.
- We have a variety of shelter equipment that will keep us warm and dry during most summer weather conditions. However, in the event that weather conditions present a health and safety risk, clubs will visit indoor wildlife and einvironmental attractions such as dynamic earth, national museum of scotland, Earthship Fife. We will travel via public transport and/or minibus.
