Woodland activity clubs and Forest School programmes for children in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife.

OCN accredited Forest School training courses - www.forestschooltraining.co.uk.

At BigWorld we know that giving children experiences of their natural environment is the key to ensuring their physical, emotional and environmental wellbeing. That’s why it’s our mission to help children aged 7 and upwards enjoy, understand and value their local wild places.

Our Easter 2010 programme was fantastic - with felting, forging, wood sorrel omelettes, mistle thrushes, kelly kettles, shelter building, cross-bows, carving and quality hammock-time in the sun. A big thanks to all who joined in.

We will be running two weeks of clubs in the Summer 2010 break - Mon 2 to 6 Aug (South Edinburgh) & Mon 9 to 13 Aug (North Edinburgh) - please contact us on 07796677059/ aline_hill@hotmail.com to register your interest or make a booking.

From wildlife tracking and nature photography to bushcraft and survival skills and natural arts and crafts, we offer a whole host of fun, hands-on outdoor experiences for children as part of after-school and all-day holiday clubs. We also regularly team up with schools to offer accredited Forest School programmes and environmental education fieldwork. Click on the links in the main navigation bar above for more information.

Whatever the format, we strive to make our groups emotionally and physically safe and socially inclusive, allowing children's self esteem and social skills to grow naturally alongside their love of nature.

BigWorld’s programmes are run by Aline Hill, a Level 3-qualified Forest School Leader with five years’ experience of working with children in the wild. All our activities achieve the highest standards in interaction, activity design and health and safety.
